The sunny Los Angeles based fitness and wellness blogger has spent her career sharing helpful tips for anyone interested in bettering their health. She’s become a force in the wellness industry because of her happy-go-lucky attitude and her dedication to genuinely connecting with her fans. As an influencer, Remi has secured collaborations with Nike, Create and Cultivate, and more. She is a true hustler and even though she has a little over 191k followers, Remi still feels like that big sister figure whose only interest is inspiring you to your best life. We sat down with Remi Ishizuka to get her thoughts on her career, her mentality, and what she’s most excited about next.
I was determined to put in my all to my health in 2016 after being unemployed for a year and not having any sense of direction in my life. I started using my personal Instagram as a creative outlet to start sharing one healthy breakfast bowl recipe a day to my friends and family and it was the first time I was putting myself first. I never thought this passion project would turn into a career, but I am so grateful I followed my heart and went for it!
Share something you are working on that makes you jump out of bed in the morning. People catch onto this passion and will come back for more. It’s inspiring to see someone so dedicated to experimenting, challenging, and expressing themselves in any way that is most authentic to them. Even if you don’t know what that is, share the vulnerable side of trying to figure it out. Take people along the journey and post consistently everyday!
Before and after my office hours is scheduled me-time! It’s practically routine now for me to wake up at 5 am, make my morning matcha (I quit coffee 2 years ago), work out at 6 am, and be done with shower and breakfast by 730 am before I sit down on my computer and start the day. Working out first thing fires up my brain and gives me energy!
There’s no one solution fits all. I love learning about all the newest hacks and diets out there, but at the end of the day, you have to be in tune with your body and listen to what it needs. For me, eating a healthy filling macro meal with veggies, carbs, protein, and fats is what keeps my body functioning at its highest potential.
Looking back on what went wrong in my life (getting demoted, getting my heart broken, having no backbone), I realized these all happened so something better suited for me could come along. I just have to remember the universe wants me to succeed, so long as I follow my heart, work hard, and grow from my experiences.
My mom! She is the reason I have a positive mentality and believe everything happens for a reason.
I want to build a brand outside of my Instagram. I’m currently working on a project that I am so excited about and can’t wait to share!
